With so many crises afflicting the world at once, some may have missed what is happening in Mexico. Juan Solana will tell us if we have to worry about a failing state on our southern border
When: Wednesday April 15, Social Hour 5:30 p.m. Dinner 6:15; Talk 7:15; Adjournment 8:45
Where: Marten House, 1801 West 86th Street. Indianapolis
Reservations can be made to cmatthewfox@yahoo.com before 5:00 April 10 … put “ICWA Dinner Reservation” as the subject header”
So what’s going on at this event? Juan Solana’s job is to represent the interests of Mexico in the Midwest, and he does a good job. Expect an articulate presentation about business possibilities, shared interests across the border, maybe some about energy politics, definitely some about immigration policy.
Why does Provocate think you should attend this event? Ask tough questions: the drug-fueled civil war is a good place to start. Consul Solana will answer intelligently and honestly.
If you think this event sounds interesting, be sure to check out … Other Latin AMerican events at almost the same time: April 21 the World Trade Club discusses Latin American business opportunities; and April 21 the Indianapolis Committee on Foreign Relations discusses the emergence of Brazil as a regional power.
Know before you go: Sagamore Institute has a study of Indiana-Mexico economic relations that is not completely out of date.
